The Scribe List

This is the Scribe list. If a name highlighted in blue the student has already done a scribe for this cycle. You will be expected to scribe once every 30 classes. This link explains the job of a Scribe. Please choose a name from this list as the next person who will be the next scribe.

This is the second round of the scribe list. If you have an * beside your name you did not do a scribe during the first round. You may do a scribe any day you want to catch up. You still will be responsible to do a scribe if you are chosen during round 2.

Part of being a scribe is leaving comments. You will be expected to leave comments behind at the sites provided in the Blogs that scribe link in your side bar.

k) If you randomlyu pick a date in April, how many equally likely outcomes are there?

ans: 30
There are 30 days in April so the total possible outcome is 30.

p) A magician asked you to pick a card, any card, from a standard deck of 52 cards. What is the probability of picking an ace?

ans: 4/52 or 1/17
There are 4 Ace in the standard deck so the P.O. is 4/52 or 1/13 .

I. find each probability if you spin the spinner once.

1.P(red)

answer:The probability of getting red in the spinner is 1/5.if you want to get the percentage of the probability,first you divide 1/5 then multiply the answer to 100 which the answer is 20%.

2.P(green)

answer:The probability of getting green in the spinner is 1/5 which the answer is the same as number 1.So the percentage is also 20%

3.P(blue or white)

answer:The probability of getting blue or white in the spinner is 2/5 or40%.

4.P(not yellow)

answer:The probability in getting all the colors except for the color yellow is 4/5 or 80%

5.P(not red)

answer:This is also the same as number 4 but now they are looking for the probability of all the colors except for the color red.So the answer in this question is also 4/5 or 80%

6.P(blue or white)

answer:The probability of getting blue or white is 2/5 or 40%

Find each probability if you spin the spinner once.

1.P(red)= 1-possible outcomes

5- total possible outcomes=20%

I divided the possible outcomes and total of possible outcomes then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent of my answer.

1/5=0.2=20%

2.P(green)1/5 =20%

I did it as the first one I divided the possible outcomes and the total possible outcomes then I multiply it to 100 to get the percent which is 20%

1/5=0.2=20%

3.P(blue or yellow)2/5=40%

This is the same as the other ones I divided the possible outcomes which is 2 to the total possible outcomes which is 5 then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent which is 40%.

2/5=0.4=40%

4.P(not yellow)4/5=80%

First I take the possible outcomes which is 4 and the total possible outcomes which is 5 then I divided it.Then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent which is 80%.

what I did is like this first I look for the othr thats not red. Then I found the possible outcomes which is 4 and the total possible outcomes which is 5.Then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent.

I count the blue red yellow which is the possible outcomes that is 3 and I look for the total possible outcomes which is 5.I multiply them to know the ratio then I divided it to 100 to become a percent.

8. P (white) 4/8 or ½, there are 4 white cards out of 8 cards. I reduce them into half,
that’s why I have ½.

9. P (shaded) 1/8, there’s one shaded card out of 8 cards.

10. P (white or shaded) 5/8, there are 4 white cards and 1 shaded card. I added 4 into 1, 4+1=5, it‘s 5 cards out of 8 cards. So the answer is 5/8.

11. P (striped or white) 7/8, there are 3 striped cards and 4 white cards. I added them together, 3+4=7, 7 cards out of 8 cards.

12. P (striped or shaded) 4/8 or ½, there are 3 striped cards and 1 shaded card. I

p=1/2 because there is only one possible correct answer, either true or false and the 2 is the total of the choices (TPO)!

18)what is the probability that your birthday will fall on saturday or sunday?

p=2/7 beacause there are 2 possible days that your birthday will fall on that day and 7 is the total days in a week (TPO)!

percent: 2/7=0.285 0.285x100=28.5% or 28.5 out of 100

18) what is the probability that your graduation will fall on monday?

p=1/7 because monday is the only day in a week and it's the only possible day that your graduation will fall and 7 is the total days in a week (TPO)!

percent: 1/7=0.142 0.142x100=14.2% or 14.2 out of 100
