ans: 75 150/2=75
2 is the T.P.O. so getting a heads should have 50%chance.

c) The letters a, e, i, o, u, and y are vowels. If one letter of the alphabet is chosen randomly, what is the probability it is a vowel?

ans: 6/26 or 3/13

k) If you randomlyu pick a date in April, how many equally likely outcomes are there?

ans: 30
There are 30 days in April so the total possible outcome is 30.

p) A magician asked you to pick a card, any card, from a standard deck of 52 cards. What is the probability of picking an ace?

ans: 4/52 or 1/17
There are 4 Ace in the standard deck so the P.O. is 4/52 or 1/13 .

answer:The probability of getting red in the spinner is 1/5.if you want to get the percentage of the probability,first you divide 1/5 then multiply the answer to 100 which the answer is 20%.

2.P(green)

answer:The probability of getting green in the spinner is 1/5 which the answer is the same as number 1.So the percentage is also 20%

3.P(blue or white)

answer:The probability of getting blue or white in the spinner is 2/5 or40%.

4.P(not yellow)

answer:The probability in getting all the colors except for the color yellow is 4/5 or 80%

5.P(not red)

answer:This is also the same as number 4 but now they are looking for the probability of all the colors except for the color red.So the answer in this question is also 4/5 or 80%

answer:The probability of getting blue or white is 2/5 or 40%

Find each probability if you spin the spinner once.




1.P(red)= 1-possible outcomes
5- total possible outcomes=20%
I divided the possible outcomes and total of possible outcomes then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent of my answer.


1/5=0.2=20%



2.P(green)1/5 =20%

I did it as the first one I divided the possible outcomes and the total possible outcomes then I multiply it to 100 to get the percent which is 20%





1/5=0.2=20%



3.P(blue or yellow)2/5=40%

This is the same as the other ones I divided the possible outcomes which is 2 to the total possible outcomes which is 5 then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent which is 40%.

First I take the possible outcomes which is 4 and the total possible outcomes which is 5 then I divided it.Then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent which is 80%.

what I did is like this first I look for the othr thats not red. Then I found the possible outcomes which is 4 and the total possible outcomes which is 5.Then I multiply it to 100 to become a percent.

I count the blue red yellow which is the possible outcomes that is 3 and I look for the total possible outcomes which is 5.I multiply them to know the ratio then I divided it to 100 to become a percent.

p=2/7 beacause there are 2 possible days that your birthday will fall on that day and 7 is the total days in a week (TPO)!

p=1/7 because monday is the only day in a week and it's the only possible day that your graduation will fall and 7 is the total days in a week (TPO)!

percent: 1/7=0.142 0.142x100=14.2% or 14.2 out of 100

Question 16 -

What is the probability of guessing the correct answer to a multiple choice question if there are 5 choices?


The probability is 20%.
You take the number of outcomes, which is 1 and divide it by the total possible outcomes, which is 5.


1/5 = 0.2 * 100 = 20%

Question 17 -

What is the probability of guessing the correct answer to a true-false question?


With a true-false question there are only 2 answers so that's your total possible outcome and you can only choose 1 so your number of outcomes. So divide them.

1/2 = 0.5 * 100 = 50%

Question 18 -

What is the probability that your birthday will fall on a Saturday or Sunday?

Well there are 7 days in a week so that's your total possible outcome and Saturday and Sunday are only 2 so that's your number of outcomes. So divide them.

2/7 = 0.2857 * 100 = 28.57%

Making a Question of my Own -

What is the probability that your birthday will fall on a Wednesday?

So Wednesday is only 1 of the days in the week so that's your number of outcomes and there are 7 days in a week in total so that's your total possible outcomes. So divide them.

1/7 = 0.1428 * 100 = 14.28%. 14.28% is your probability.

The probability that it will land on A is 2/4 (2 out of 4) or 1/2 (1 out of 2) or 50% because A is Half of the circle or is 2 /4 of the circle because you have to find the common pieces, which is 4ths. The 2 is the possible outcomes and 4 is the total possible outcomes, using the common piece.

Answer: P(b)=1/4


The probability that it will stop on B is 1/4 because since the common piece is 4ths, B would be 1/4 of the circle or 25%. The 1 is the total possible outcomes because there is only one B that the spinner can land on and the 4 is the total possible outcomes because there are 4 possible outcomes using the common piece which is 4ths.

T. If you spin the spinner 50 times, about how many times would you expect it to stop on A?
Answer: 25 times
The answer is 25 times because : (p.o.)1/2(2 multiplied by 25 equals 50 ) = 25/50(50 divided by 2 equals 25)
25 would be the number of times you would spin A out of 50 spins.

Y. If you spin the spinner 80 times, about how many times would you expect it to stop on C?
Answer: 20 times
The answer is 20 times because : (p.o.)1/4(4 multiplied by 20 equals 80 ) = 20/80(80 divided by 4 equals 20)
20 would be the number of times you would spin C out of 80 spins.

The answer will be 75, 1/2 or 50% because there are 2 sides on a coin. If you divide 150 by 2, the answer will be 75. 75 is a way of showing that it is the half of 150. You can get a 50/50 chance of getting heads when you flip the coin. Half of the chance will land on heads and the other half of the chance will land on tails. 1/2 is a way of writing one half of the chance of flipping a heads. Another way of showing it is 50%. 50% is half of the chance out of 100% when you can flip the coin and half the chance will be heads.

K) If you randomly pick a date in April, how many equally likely outcomes are there?

There would be 30 outcomes because there are 30 days in April. If you randomly pick a date in April, there would be 30 days for you to pick. So there are 30 days or 30 total possible outcomes if you randomly pick a date in April.
C) The letters a, e, i, o, u, and y are vowels. If one letter of the alphabet is chosen at random, what is the probability it is a vowel?
The probability of it is a vowel is 6/26=3/13 or 23% because there are 26 total possible outcomes and 6 possible outcomes. 6 is how many letters that are vowels in the alphabet and 26 is the total of letters in the alphabet. 23% is the percent of how many letters that are vowels out of 100%.

The answer will be 4/52=1/13 or 7.6%. 4 is the possible outcomes which is the number of how many aces are in the deck of cards, 52 is the total possible outcomes and it is the total number of how many cards are specifically in the deck of cards. When you reduce 4/52, you get 1/13. It can be written in both ways. Another way that it can be written is that when you divide 4 by 52 and multiply it by 100, you will get the answer of 7.6%. 7.6% means that you will get 7.6% of a chance of picking an ace in the deck of cards.
My question: A magician asks you to pick a card, any card, from a standard deck of 52 cards. What is the probability of picking a 2 and queen?
The answer will be 8/52=4/26=2/13 or 15.3%. This time 8 is the possible outcome and 52 is still the total possible outcome. The 4 changed into the 8 because according to the deck of 52 cards, there are 4 cards for each number. So this means queen and the 2 have 4 cards for that number. You will have a chance of 4/26 to pick a queen or 2 out of the deck of cards. When you reduce 8/52, you will get 4/26. 15.3% means that you will get 15.3% of a chance of picking a 2 or a queen.

Julie buys a book, a game, a puzzle, and a piece of computer software at the book fair. The computer software cost $10. Julie claims that the average price of the items she bought is $2.50. Can she be correct? Why or Why not.


The items Julie bought cannot have an average of $2.50 because one of her items costs $10, and all her items would have to be $0 for this to be possible.
If Julie's items were to have an average of $2.50, the computer software's price would have to decrease.

FOR EXAMPLE :

The book costs $2.50*
The game costs $1.50*
The puzzle costs $1.00*
The computer software costs $5.00*
Data: $2.50 + $1.50 + $1.00 + $5.00 = $10.00/4 = $2.50 <-- MEAN/AVERAGE

The sum of all data ^^ divided by the amount of data, (4), equals $2.50, (average price).
