Boeun's Probability Post E-49 7~15

FIND EACH PROBABILITY IF YOU CHOOSE ONE CARD AT RANDOM

NUMBER OF POSSIBLE OUTCOMES
------------------------------------------------------------ = PROBABILITY
TOTAL NUMBER OF POSSIBLE OUTCOMES

Find each probability if you spin the spinner once.

7. P( striped) = 3/8 (because there's 3 striped squares)

8. P(white) =
1/2 (because there's 4 whites in 8 so it

should be 4/8 but i reduced it in to half because

it's same thing)

9. P(shaped) =
1/8 (because there's only 1 square out of those 8

squares)

10. P(white or shaded) = 5/8 (because there's 4 white and 1 shaded so it's 5)

11. P(striped or white) = 7/8 (because there's 4 white and 3 striped so it's 7)

12. P(striped or shaded) =
1/2 (because there's 3 striped and 1 shaded

squares and it's add up to 4 so it should be 4/8 but i reduced it to half)

13. P(not striped) =
5/8 (because there's 3 striped squares out of 8 squares

so 8-3 = 5 it is 5/8)

14. P(not white) =
1/2 (because there's 4 white squares out of 8 so

8-4=4 it is 4/8 but i reduced it to half)

15. P(striped or white or shaded) =
8/8 (because there's 3 striped,

4 white and 1 shaded, so it adds up to 8 and there's total 8 squares.

It is 8/8 but you can say 1 as a whole thing)

NEW QUESTION

If you pick squares at random, what is the probability?

P(pink, white, blue) = 3/8 because there is only one of these colours

P(yellow, black, red) = 2/8 because there is no red

P(green, orange) = 1/8 because there is no orange

P(brown) = 0/8 because there is no brown

P(brown, orange, green, yellow, black , red, blue) =
4/8 because there's no brown, orange, red
